Georgia Mae

My Meema, Georgia Mae Williams, went to be with Jesus on October 20, 2011. She was such an example of how to "Love the Lord with all your heart". Meema was a loving, giving, tender spirit. Everyone that met her, loved her. We will miss you Meema. I can't wait to see you again one day!

Sunday, October 23rd, was the visitation for Meema. Our great family friend, Caroline, and her husband David drove in town. It meant a lot to us to see them.

After the visitation, we all went to my uncle Donnie's house for dinner. Roman loved being at the farm again.

The funeral was Monday morning. Both kids were sat during the funeral and did great. It was a great memorial to Meema.

Springfield Zoo

Saturday morning, we had nothing to do with a crazy two year old son that needed to get some energy out. We got my mom and brother and his family and all headed to the zoo. It was such a great family time.

Time in Springfield

We ended up spending almost two weeks in Springfield at my mom's house. I wanted to be there for her while her mom was so sick and we didn't want to have to drive home and then come right back up for the funeral again a few days later. It worked out okay. My children have become professional travelers. They both slept great in their pack n plays. Carmen slept 9-10 hours every night! I feel so fortunate that I could put our life on hold to spend time with my mom and brother during this time.

Arkansas visit

The kids and I drove the Missouri to my mom's house on Thursday morning. We all went to see my Meema at the nursing home on Friday morning. She had dementia and Alzheimer's and forgot how to swallow. She hadn't eaten in 11 days. It was so sad. I'm so glad that I got to see her one more time.

Four generations. This was a really hard picture for me.

Tulsa visit

On Tuesday, October 11th, I received a phone call from my mom that my Meema wasn't eating anything in her nursing home and wasn't going to live much longer. Matt and I drove up there the very next morning. We had to stop in Tulsa on Wednesday evening for Matt to fly to work and to help me break up the drive to my mom's house. I stayed at Matt's parent's house with the kids that night. Matt's grandmother came by to see Roman and Carmen. I love these generation pictures!
