Is it Halloween yet?!

Roman was absolutely thrilled to dress Carmen up in his old batman costume. Both kids were batman. She loved the attention too! The best part was that I took the kids to get ice cream in their costumes. Yes, I'm that mom!

Park time!

It's been high in the low 80's around here lately. Amazing! Yesterday, we went to the park and walked in some trails as a family. It was a great day! I love eating every dinner outside now!

First day of Preschool 3yr class

We are so proud of our big boy and a little sad at how fast he's growing! It was a crazy morning to say the least! Roman usually sleeps until 8-8:30am, so he was NOT happy to be woken up at 7:45 and told to get dressed. Someone didn't want to do anything but sleep. Sounds like his daddy. Just saying! After a couple of fried eggs and homemade blueberry lemon muffins, he started moving. We are so excited for all that Roman is going to learn this year in Preschool!

The night before Preschool

The night before preschool and all through the house, everyone was stirring and mommy was going crazy!

I kept trying to get Roman to calm down and wind down, but that was just not happening!

Of course our buddy, Liliana, came over to help bathe Carmen, but she missed bath time, so she got to wish Roman a good first day of preschool

Roman's teacher sent us a little "night before preschool" poem. to read before bed. It was SO cute!

He loved the idea! I love that his teacher is fabulous! She's already called me once and emailed a couple of times to keep us updated on his class and introduce herself. I think it's going to be a great school year!

Peek a boo!

Roman and Carmen are really starting to play with each other a lot more since she's been walking. Every time we come home from somewhere, Roman has to get out of the car and come ring the front door bell. It's a funny habit. He loves to be greeted at the door by the rest of the family. Silly kids! Roman has been more defiant lately and I think it's cause we're back to adjusting after being gone for a week, daddy has been gone so much, and he's just three. The other day I asked him when he was going to start obeying me (I was at my breaking point!) and he said, "On Tuesday." Little stinker!

Labor Day Weekend

Matt, once again, has been flying like crazy!! He got sent to Africa for four days and then came home on Saturday night for a little over 12 hours and then flew to Sweden. We need a break! He obviously hasn't slept good at all with all of these overnight flights. He was home Saturday night during labor day weekend. We were invited to go to dinner at Liliana's grandparent's house, Anita and Ralph. They are full Italian and she's the best cook ever! The food was amazing! Afterwards, we headed down to our house and shot off a few fireworks. The kids had a great time!

Walking!

August 25th, 2012

Carmen starting walking for the very first time without us holding her! It was at my mom's house with Andy and Elizabeth there. We all enjoyed this precious milestone together!! Carmen was 14 months old.

Week of family fun

We decided to take a family trip to Tulsa on Saturday, August 18th. The only problem was that Matt had flown the red eye from LA to NY the night before, came home to take a quick nap, and then drove us back to the airport to fly to Tulsa. We didn't land until 10pm our time. It was such a hard day for him. Flying with the whole family is always a little stressful especially since we took captain too! We made it safe and sound and enjoyed great family time all day Sunday!

During nap time, Pam took me to get our nails done. It was so great to hang with her and relax for a bit! We all went to Charlestons for dinner that night.

We gave all the kids a bath together. Carmen was not going to have it!

Monday morning, we met up with Grandma Jones, Mindy, and Theo. It was a fun time. Later, Matt stayed home with Carmen while she napped and Grandma, Roman, and I went shoe shopping for Roman at the mall. We enjoyed a great lunch at Cheesecake factory. After nap time, Roman's other cousins all came over to see us. It was so great to see Lee and Erika!

Mark and Whitney brought the kids over a family dinner at Pa and Grandma's. We had such a great time!

Tuesday afternoon, we headed to the lake. It was so great to be back at the lake!

Brad and Jamie came up about an hour later with their three boys. We all had a great couple of days together!

Thursday afternoon, the girls and kids were kicked out of the lake! Ha! Matt's buddies started coming up for their fantasy football draft. They spent 4 days of who knows what at the lake. I don't even want to know! I drove to Springfield to see my mom. Thursday night, I stopped by Sarah's house to meet baby Mason.
