Lately...

Well, it happened again! Roman got another ear infection!! This is three in three months! It all started when he woke up with a cold two Sunday's ago. I just knew that the cold would turn into an ear infection. My poor boy got so sick!!! I was off work with him on Martin Luther King day. He seemed okay the whole day. Around 3 pm, things started going down hill. Matt had just left for work for the week. I immediately called him to let him know that Roman had a fever. He called his mom and she was on a flight two hours later! Wow, I'm so lucky to have such a great mother in law!! She ended up staying with me the rest of the week so I could go to work. She helped so much to take care of Roman! We ended up taking him to an after hours pediatrician Monday night to start getting antibiotics in him. Sure enough, it was a double ear infection. Roman is now doing so much better, but Matt and I caught his cold and can't get rid of it! We're both still sick! Matt couldn't fly this week because his head is so congested. It is nice having him home, though!

Our little cutie before he got sick!

Mommy is home from work!! Loving on my boys!!

Our little man!

Grandma is here!! Roman loved reading with her!

Roman has a new thing! You can ask him to show you his muscles and he squeezes really hard and grunts! So cute!!!!!

Showing his muscles again!!

He loved being in the box!! What is it with kids and boxes?!

"I'm feeling better, mommy!"

Roman has been loving daddy being home. He wanted to help him with his tools.

Yesterday was Roman's first day back to school. He played so hard that he fell asleep at dinner last night!! I feel bad, but I just had to get a picture!!!

The only way that I could wake him up was by reading to him. It worked!

Hopefully we can all get well again very soon! I am meeting with his pediatrician on Friday to discuss his ear infections. I just hate that my little boy keeps getting them so often.

Hanging with the Longs

A couple of weekends ago we had the Longs over for a Saturday afternoon to enjoy some football. The kids played lots! I think Chloe really enjoyed having a lot of new toys to play with. Matt and I made white chicken chili and we had a great time.

Chloe loved Roman's car!
"How does this work?"
Roman showed off his jumping skills as usual!

Chloe seriously LOVED the cars!
Chloe also loved Matt!! It was so cute to see her open up to him!

We're in double digits folks!!!

Roman is officially 10 months old today! He now weighs around 23 lbs! He's such a happy little boy!!

Over the past month he has gotten 4 more teeth! Santa brought Roman his two front teeth for Christmas!! He now has 6 teeth total!

Roman is now eating almost all people food. He officially does not like baby food and will not take it! Eating a meal now takes almost an hour! He will throw food in the floor and swat your hand sometimes if you're trying to feed him by the spoon. It's a fun little game! He is loving to feed himself with his hands mostly! Luckily we have Captain to come in and clean up the huge mess after every meal!

Roman is still nursing first thing in the morning and then getting approximately 28 oz of formula throughout the day.

He is standing on his own a lot! He falls a lot too! We've seen him take a step on his own without holding onto anything several different times, but then he falls right back down. Progress!!! Matt says that training camp 2010 is coming up for walking!

Everything is "da da"! I repeat, EVERYTHING!! It's so cute, cause we will now always try to get him to say "momma" and he comes back with "da da". In due time!

He's getting so much more aware and really noticing his surroundings. Roman will laugh at funny pictures or situations so much more. I love it! He also has shown fear. He got a little singing penguin for Christmas and is absolutely terrified of it! If he sees it, he will crawl over to me and hold me so tight. It's kind of cute.

Roman is still going to Montessori school 3 days a week. I just got informed that we have a new huge project at work and I can no longer work from home on Tuesdays. Bummer!! Matt is going to try to work his schedule so he can stay with him on Mondays.

Every day with our sweet boy is a new adventure! He's growing so fast!! We are so blessed to have such a healthy, happy little fella!!

New Years Day

New Years Eve, my mom watched Roman so Matt and I could go out to dinner and then we went by one of my friends, Tiffany's, house for a little bit afterwards. It was fun to get out of the house. New Years day was a completely different story. Matt, Roman, and I lounged around the house the entire day in our pajamas. In case you didn't get the memo, it was pajama day!! We watched 2 movies, cooked and ate our homemade black eyed peas, went for a walk, and just hung out. It was absolutely fabulous!!

Roman wasn't too thrilled with his hat situation...

Happy New year! May God bless you and your families in 2010!

Grandpa Franks

Thursday morning, January 7th, Grandpa Franks passed away in his sleep. It's so sad, but we know that he lived a good, long life. He was 95 years old. I am so grateful that we were able to take Roman out to California in October to meet him and we got some great pictures of 4 generations together. You will be missed Grandpa! We're praying that only good can come from this and in some way our family can grow closer to God through the pain.

The week after Christmas

My mom came back to Dallas with us the week after Christmas and it was so great to not have a thing to do! We just took LOTS of really cute pictures of our handsome little boy over and over! The week consisted of great food, either cooked by our chef, Matt or eaten at restaurants, lots of shopping, and good rented movies. I loved every minute of having Matt at home for over a week. Roman enjoyed it too!
Riding on his airplane!
Mommy and daddy got to go on a date after we gave Roman a bath. Meema so graciously offered to babysit!!
