Week 32

Week 32 came and already went so fast! I had to update with the picture, though. Roman is getting bigger and so am I!! My back is still hurting lots, but what can you do?! Also, I've been having problems sleeping with restless, achy legs. Matt has been so wonderful and really tries to help!! We're getting so excited for our son to get here!!! Matt took these pictures in Romans' room, so you get a little glimpse of the paintings that I did for his room.

Couples shower last weekend

Our good friends Nat and Lindsay threw us a couples shower last Saturday night. Despite a few sicknesses, everyone had a fabulous time!! Matt's brother, Mark and Whitney were going to come in from Tulsa with their triplets. Well, nature called and all three kids got strep throat. We were so sad, but completely understood! Matt's parents and his other brother, Mike came in town. We had such a great time with them. Another huge sickness was Lindsay and Nat, the couple that threw us the shower. Lindsay had to go to the hospital the day before the shower with 104 temperature!! She couldn't even be there. Poor Nat had to do the whole thing. We missed Lindsay lots, but Nat had some of the guys come over and help cook. It ended up being a great party!! We tried to all leave his house fairly early so he could get some rest, considering he was sick too!! So the party ended up at our house!! Everyone played rock band and enjoyed some pool! Below are the pictures!! Wow, I was completely exhausted the next day!!

Matt and I are so gratefull to everyone that came to the shower!! We had a blast with each one of you!! Also, thanks to those that came in from Tulsa, Austin, and Washington DC. We are so fortunate to have such great friends and family!!! I can't wait for Roman to meet everyone!!

This week update

It's been a crazy week! Work is so busy right now. Which I love! The days go by faster. I've been working every night on the house and Roman's room. We have it just about finished. We just need his mattress and bedding and some baskets for his bookshelf. Yeah!! I'll take pictures when it's complete. Matt's entire family is coming in town this weekend for our first shower! We're having a couples shower with all of his friends. I'm so excited to have the family stay at the house and for the shower!! It's going to be a fabulous weekend!!

Roman update... I went to the doctor yesterday and she said everything looks perfect! He had the hiccups when we listened to his little heart beat. It was so cute! He kept moving when she was trying to get his heartbeat too. It was funny, like she had to chase him! She thinks that he's going to be a smaller baby, around 6-7lbs. Which is what I was. My mom had two smaller babies. I heard that this is kind of genetic. Does that mean he could come early too? Because both of my mom's babies came early. Just wondering if anyone out there has that knowledge! The doctor also told me that I need to slow down. I've been still walking or working out on the elliptical machine 3-5 times a week. She said max 3 times and if I'm feeling wonderful, maybe 4. Oops!! I do need to start slowing down. I want him to be healthy, so I slept in this morning and didn't go to the gym and it was wonderful!!

Condo update... Well, we found a renter, finally for our condo! We were thrilled! She wants to move in this weekend. We finished any last minute cleaning on the condo last weekend. She signed the papers and sent them to us. The day that we signed the papers, we got a call from our old realtor. He said that another lady is interested in buying the condo! It isn't even on the market to sell anymore! So, Matt let him know that she has to put in an offer immediately. After some negotiations, she is willing to pay what we are asking on the contingency that the home appraises for that amount. We are so thrilled!! This could be such a miracle! We just have to wait 10 days for the appraisal to go through. Let's just pray that the home appraises for our asking price!

30 weeks has come and gone...

I am already 31 weeks, but I wanted to update with the 30 week picture below. Roman is growing like crazy! He's supposedly around 3-1/2 lbs. His movements are less abrupt, I think of them as more alien like. He gets the hiccups now almost every day! We're getting so excited to meet him. I think Matt is more ready than I am. Don't get me wrong, I'm ready, but I'm nervous. So much to do and think about!! We've been working overtime on his room! I can't wait to post final pictures. We hung curtains yesterday and I'm working on two acrylic paintings on canvas of airplanes. They are taking forever! This little boy better love his room one day! We've put hours into it!!

Taco Bell, I'm back!

I know I've mentioned it before, but I've always been obsessed with Taco bell. While being pregnant, this obsession has only increased until Thanksgiving!!! I can't believe that I forgot to blog about this months ago, but it's never too late...

Matt and I were driving back from Springfield, Missouri on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The trip normally takes around 6 hours and this one just took forever, like 8 hours! We were getting frustrated and stopped in a little town in Oklahoma to get food. Matt decides that he wants burger king, so I wait in the longest line ever to get us food. When I'm up there ordering, I decide that I want Taco bell, so I just get his food and run out to the car. He's so frustrated with me!! He has to drive a couple of doors down to the Taco Bell. So I run in and order my food. I'm so excited. This skinny guy hands me the bag of food and smiles. Immediately I notice he has no teeth in the front. Probably a meth addict. I smile politely and take the food to the car. All my brain can think at that moment is no teeth, no teeth, no teeth!!! I try to take a couple of bites of food and then just start crying. I'm talking tears are coming down my face. I throw the food in the bag and put it on the floor of the car. Matt is so confused asking what could possibly be wrong! I cry out, "All I wanted was the taco bell and now I can't eat it because the guy that served it to me had no teeth!!!" Of course Matt just dies laughing at me! I haven't eaten Taco bell since! I made him stop at the next small city and get me a hot fudge sunday at McDonald's. So now, 2 months later, I ate Taco Bell today for the very first time. It was a good experience. Roman likes it too! He has the hiccups right now. I think I'm back!!

Roman loves donuts!!

Okay, I have never in my life been a "sweets" person. I would rather stuff myself with pizza or a burger than have ice cream. This has definitely changed. I am now having hot fudge sundays almost every night! It's so yummy! Well, it all started at church last Sunday. Our small group brought breakfast to Sunday School. For some reason, I signed us up to bring donuts. When Matt and I went to go buy them before church, he also bought a few donut holes for our ride. Man, they were delicious!! I ate another donut at church and then haven't stopped thinking about them since! This morning after my doctor's appointment, I'm down at the EDS cafeteria desperately searching for donuts. There were none to be found. I almost hopped in my car to Dunkin donuts at that moment. I decided that might not be a good idea considering it was 10 am and I had just made it to work. I made it through lunch and then while running errands, I found myself driving into the dunkin donuts parking lot! Man, I hope I didn't just start a tradition!!!

On another note, I went to my 30 week check up this morning and Roman seems to be head down!! Yeah, this is exciting news! I really would prefer not to have a c-section. Let's just hope he stays there! All of my tests came back and I don't have gestational diabetes. Even my iron levels were good! Yes, thanks Matt for making all of those hamburgers!! Roman is measuring right on schedule. I can't wait to meet him and actually feed him donuts one day!!

You know you're huge when...

Below is my picture from 28 weeks. I have grown a lot in the past two weeks, though. I love being pregnant. I've had a really easy time except for back aches. I really can't complain. I've been able to continue to work out through this entire time which has given me energy and I thought was maybe keeping the weight down. Now, that I'm into the 3rd trimester, things are getting just a little rougher. I need to preface this with I'm okay with gaining weight since it's for Roman and I know that I am going to work my butt off afterwards to lose it. It's just really funny to hear the comments that people say.

Someone tells you, "You've grown so much over the holidays! You've gotten wider!!"



A server at a restaurant says, "Wow, you're not due until March! You look like you could be due any time now!"

And last but not least, your husband says, " Honey, is your underwear going to stretch? Are you going to have buy new ones later?"

We have gotten a few laughs!! Matt felt really bad, he didn't mean for it to be rude at all. I thought it was really funny! He's just being himself, money conscious, thinking about all of the new underwear and clothes that I might have to buy later!!

28 weeks. Yes, I still have 12 weeks to go from this picture!!

Christmas with our families!!

Wow, I've been on vacation for a long time and haven't gotten a chance to blog. We had a wonderful time over Christmas and New Years. I started the holidays off with a trip to Springfield. I got to bake cookies with my niece, Caroline and my mom, otherwise known as Meema. That night we all opened gifts together. Matt had to fly until Christmas day, so he didn't get to join in all of the fun. Bummer!

I left Springfield for Tulsa on Christmas Eve. My mom went to go stay with my grandmother over Christmas and my brother went to his in-laws. This left me by myself. I got to stay with Matt's parents and hang out with his brother, Mike. We all went over to Grandma's house for a big Christmas Eve dinner. I had a great time! Everyone went back over to Grandma's house all day on Christmas. Matt flew in and met us there that afternoon! I was so glad to have him there! We didn't end up celebrating Christmas with his immediate family until Friday night. It was a blast!!! We all went to Charlestons for dinner and then back to Bill and Pam's house to open hundreds of gifts!!! Literally!!!
