Hudson
Hudson has been pretty difficult lately on sleeping. It has been tough to get him to stay in his room. He slept in Roman's bottom bunk for a couple of weeks. Roman loved having him in there, but we noticed he was waking up at 6:30am every morning when roman was getting up. So we put him back in his own bed now, but still he is waking up early! Also I have to lay with him until he falls asleep every night. Naps are hit and miss. It has been so crazy. I have gotten more peaceful about the situation, though. I used to be so uptight about the kids sleep, but after having cancer, I realize even more how precious this time is and how short these early years truly are. If my baby boy wants me to cuddle with him, then I will. I secretly love it!
Electrician
Matt and I were told it would cost $600 and be nearly impossible to install my lights sconces in the bookshelf. So what does Matt do? What he always does... Pick up YouTube and figures out how to wire the lights. Didn't know I married an electrician!

Library
So kind of as an anniversary/birthday gift this year, Matt told me to finish the front room in the house. Most people would use this room as an office or formal living room. We don't need either, so I decided to make it a library/homework room. This has been so fun and exciting to decorate! We are almost complete. Just missing the light sconces on the bookshelf.
I drew a sketch for the cabinet man and had him build the shelves per my drawing. It was a cool feeling to see my drawing come to life!
We also had the partners desk custom made by a local woodworker. I gave him the style, dimensions, and color of stain. I couldn't find a partners desk anywhere that was exactly what we wanted. I needed it to be big enough to sit four at a time for homework. I found the hardware for the desk at anthropologie to bring in gold and white. The chairs and light fixtures are from Restoration Hardware. I'm pretty much obsessed with that place. Most of the decorations are from Homegoods or Hobby Lobby. The Ghost chairs and cowhide were purchased online. Overall, we are pretty happy with the space. Now it's time for the homework to begin!

What if?!
I'm currently reading 'Calm My Anxious Heart'. It is so good for women who tend to be anxious and worry. (Most women).
It's ironic that yesterday a story of a woman dying of breast cancer was on my Facebook feed. Of course, I got suckered in and read the entire article. My body starts to get nervous and my heart flickers. You can get suckered into fear so fast! Thank you Jesus for this book. It talked this morning about the 'what it's' in life. We must not focus on the future, but keep our focus on our sovereign Almighty God. When we keep our eyes on him, the fear tends to fade away. He is good and all things work for good, even bad things. I am daily choosing to focus on him and not fear. Wait, maybe hourly😀
1st day of First Grade
Roman started first grade on August 6th. We went to open house together two days earlier. I got a neighborhood girl to watch the other two kids so we could have a date. We went for ice cream afterwards!
Thursday morning came extremely early! I think roman was a little nervous. He came and slept with me in the middle of the night. Matt was flying.
Hudson has been sleeping in Roman's bottom bunk bed. He woke up and asked for Roman. I told him that big brother was at school. Once Roman got home, Hudson was napping. When he woke up, he came running down to Roman saying, "My brotha! I missed my brotha!" It was adorable! It wouldn't stop hugging Roman. I adore these rare, precious moments!
Panama City Beach 2015
Florida trip 2015 was amazing! Mark and the kids flew in town on Tuesday so we had that afternoon at our neighborhood pool and hung out all day Wednesday while poor Matt was in training. My friend Apryl let us borrow her golf cart so we could all fit. We took it to the pool and even the gym. Mark did yoga with me for his first time. It was hilarious!
We left for Panama City Beach on Thursday morning. It is a normal 5-1/2 hour drive, but took all 9 of us over seven hours. We spent lots of time at the pool and beach. The kids had a blast! They played movies by the pool late every night while we swam. Then other nights we hit the karaoke up! The Franks family took over karaoke! It was crazy, but overall a great trip!
