Let the monogramming begin!

We have a name!

Carmen Dale Franks

She is going to be here so soon! Carmen is my middle name and Dale was my dad's name. I've always wanted to use his name with one of my children and I just have this feeling that Carmen is going to be a lot like him, so I know it will fit perfectly!

Easter Family Fun!

We took the opportunity to take one last trip to see family before baby girl is born. We headed to Tulsa on Thursday morning. Roman did amazing on every single car ride. Just give him a DVD player and snacks and you are good to go!

We had dinner with Matt's parents, Mark, Whitney, and the triplets at Charleston's on Thursday night. Roman was Obsessed with his big cousin Will! He had to sit by him the majority of the time!
Grandma and Gracie at dinner
After dinner, we headed back to Pa and Grandma's house for bath time with the triplets and a little dancing to "who who" with Will.
Friday morning we got up and drove 2-1/2 more hours to Springfield. The weather was great that afternoon, so we took a walk in the park with Meema.

Matt was on the phone with our Condo realtor. That's another blog post...
daddy is so silly!

Later Friday night Andy and Elizabeth brought the girls over for dinner and play time fun. Roman and Caroline loved getting in Captain's bed and pretending to go to sleep.

Saturday morning, my mom and I drove another hour south to Arkansas to see my Meema. She has Alzheimer's and doesn't know who we are. I kept saying her name and she would smile at me. It felt good to at least know that I made her smile for a brief moment. She's the only grandparent that I've ever had and it's really sad to think this could possibly be the last time I see her. It was one of the high-lites of my weekend to see Meema.

4 generations (including baby girl)

Later Saturday evening we celebrated Easter with a big dinner and Meema bought the kids little Easter baskets filled with goodies.
Roman loved his little cars
My friend Sarah brought her son, Carter, over to play with Roman for a little bit. They had a great time once they warmed up to each other!
They even gave each other cute hugs!
This was the only picture I could get of the four of us!
Easter Sunday started early with the 8 am service at my mom's church. We took Roman to the church nursery and he did amazing! I was so proud of him. I brought him to the end of the service to listen to the music and he was so excited! He kept looking over at Meema and smiling. It was so great!
After church photos

Two peas in a pod!

We packed up immediately after church and headed to the lake to meet Matt's entire family. Roman was excited in the car! We missed the Easter egg hunt, but it's okay. We still got to spend some quality time with the family over Easter lunch.
Roman and his great uncle Jay
Mass chaos with tons of kiddos = SO FUN!!

After a few hours at the lake, we headed back to Tulsa to stay one more night with Pa and Grandma. We had to break up the trips because being 31 weeks pregnant, my back was hurting so bad from riding in the car for too long. I'm so mad that I didn't get any more pictures in Tulsa with the family. We enjoyed dinner together at Charlestons again and then left Monday after breakfast.

Roman is so fortunate to have such loving families on both sides. We're so glad that we got to take one last trip to see everyone before sissy arrives.

30 weeks pregnant

I am currently 30 weeks pregnant with our baby girl! Less than 10 weeks to go!! Oh boy!!!
  • I'm getting so many back aches! It's so hard to sit at my desk at work all day!
  • I passed the glucose test with flying colors! The doctor yesterday said my blood levels were perfect! Yippee!!
  • I keep forgetting to mention this, but I have formed a few stretch marks above my belly button. I didn't get any with Roman, so I was devastated to get them this time around! After literally balling my eyes out to Matt, I finally have come to terms with the fact that I may never be able to wear a bikini again. Hello tankinis!!! I know there are such worse problems in the world, but if you are like me and the other so called 90% of women that get these, it is simply devastating! Anyone can diet or work out to improve their body, but there is nothing but surgery that can fix this. Matt promised me that I could one day have surgery. I'm not kidding when I say that's the only reason why I stopped crying to him! I don't mean to be vain, I promise!
  • Baby girl is approximately 3lbs and around 15-17 inches long.
  • She's moving more like an alien and I'm really able to depict which body parts I can feel. It's so fun and exiting!!
  • I only gained 2lbs from my last appointment. I thought this was so strange! I promise Matt and I eat homemade cookies every single night! This is a total weight gain so far of 16 lbs which is significantly lower than with Roman. I'm thinking we'll pack in those lb's in the next few weeks.
  • Guess what?! We have a name!!! To be announced very soon!!! I'm so thrilled!

Heather's baby shower

This past Saturday, the league threw a baby shower for Heather. She is going to have a sweet baby girl, Erin, sometime around May 11th. Such a great day considering it's my birthday! Anyways, we had a great time showering one of our best friends!
Lindsey(pregnant with Carter), Ashley (pregnant with ? girl), Tiffany, Heather (pregnant with Erin), Kristin, and Jennifer

Food table
Cute cupcakes
Jennifer had the cutest idea to make little flower arrangements in pots with the cupcakes. These all match baby Erin's bedding.
Love the flowers!

The league!
We all can't wait to meet the League's newest addition! She's going to be just perfect!!!

Dallas Zoo!

Last Friday morning we decided to take Roman to the Dallas Zoo as a family. We have been working so hard on the babies room that we figured we all needed a break! Going in the middle of the week was great except that almost every single school district in the metroplex took a field trip to the zoo that day too! We still had a blast! Roman was SO excited! He kept telling his monkey that they were going to the zoo the entire car ride! It was so cute!!
Getting our tickets!
Yay! We made it!
Roman loved the camels
Hello Rino!
There was a baby alligator in this cage. Roman is obsessed with alligators!! We stayed here for a while!
Water Break! Yes, Roman was on a leash. I highly recommend them for the independent toddlers that have to walk!
Penguins!!
Posing in front of the monkey!
He had to give the fake monkeys all hugs
The best part was the giraffe area!
We paid $5 for lettuce and Roman got to feed the giraffe. He was ecstatic!!! We still talk about feeding the giraffes lettuce!

We had a little family picnic for lunch around the monkey area and then decided it was time to head home. Roman only had 2 meltdowns! For a two year old, this was great!
Heading home
He was out so fast! I call this a successful family outing!!! We have to go back again!!
