Bedtime

I just got to put Hudson to bed tonight for the first time in over a month and he cuddled and stayed still while I just rocked him. (He's never still!) It's like he knew mommy was back. I probably shouldn't have lifted him, but it was SO worth it!

Carmen is three!!

We celebrated Carmen's birthday with lunch at meema's house after church and then cake and presents. She had a wonderful time!

Carmen facts:

She is a little mommy. She takes care of her brothers and try's to always help them.

Carmen is obsessed with princesses and watch Cinderella almost every single night

Carmen is a wonderful eater. She will eat almost anything we put in front of her. Eggs are her favorite food.

Carmen loves her baby dolls. She lines them up by the front door and pretends to be their teacher. She even puts them all to bed at naptime and says, "goodnight, love you" as she shuts the door to the playroom. It's so adorable!

Carmen wears some size 3 and size 4 clothes. She has a size 8 shoe.

Carmen loves tutus, hair bows and clips, and anything girly. But she's tough as nails and can hold her own.

Carmen adores her brothers so much!  She also is a daddy's girl and loves him so much!

Carmen knows most of the alphabet and all of her colors. She's a pretty good counter, but likes to skip a few numbers here and there.

Carmen is starting to get more defiant and gets spanked more often, but she usually backs down and repents.

We love you sweet girl! You bring so much joy and pink to our lives! God made you, Carmen Dale, in his image. You are beautiful and so bright.

Hudson

Matt and Hudson have a different relationship. Hudson literally whines and cries when Matt walks in the room. It drives Matt crazy! Men are not meant to be stay at home dads. I can't pick Hudson up at all because of my surgery, so Matt or my mom have to always be here to help. Matt loves his boy so much, but can't wait for him to be able to talk. Times are crazy over here!

Nothing like bonding over a little beer!

Growing up

Carmen is growing up! She's been helping me more around the house. We made smoothies the other day.

She had her first dentist appointment last week and did great! Our big girl has 20 teeth.

She loves swimming and playing with the big girls in the neighborhood!

Carmen is finally potty trained during the day! It just clicked this past week. We're so proud of her! I promised Brusters Icecream after three days of keeping her underwear dry.

We were all so excited to go get Icecream after dinner. I had everyone bathed and ready and then I walk down the hall upstairs and see Roman pee over the balcony on my living room sofa. Really?!!! I was so mad! He just wanted to see what it was like! Boys!!!! Needless to say, Roman did not get to come get Icecream with us. Parenthood is crazy!

Meema met me at the Icecream store to help with Hudson. She's such a huge help! We love having her here!

Matt

We went on a date to celebrate Matt's birthday while his parents were here to babysit. It was so great to get away from kids for a quiet dinner. I love this man so much!

His birthday was on Father's Day. We got to celebrate Matt all day! We had lunch and chocolate lava cakes at my mom's house after church.

This man is my superhero. He's here every day working hard long days with these children while I recover. He is a super dad and wonderful husband. We love you daddy!

Carmen's early birthday celebration

Bill and Pam came for another week to help us out post surgery. We celebrated Carmen's birthday on Wednesday evening. It was so fun!

Carmen got lots of princess toys and a new princess bicycle! I can't believe how fast she's growing!

Summer days

Summer days are here. The kids enjoyed shooting water guns at the neighborhood elementary school bus. It's a fun tradition that everyone does every year.

The pool is open now! We are enjoying pool days. It's still pretty hard to take Hudson, but the other two love the pool!

I love cuddle time with my kiddos before bed. It's been so hard lately for Matt and I. I can't hold Hudson or lift my arms up. Matt is having to do almost everything. We're getting by, but any cuddle time I can get it wonderful!

Hudson got sick the other day and I got to hold him on my lap for a two hour nap. It was actually wonderful for my soul.
