Vacation Cabo style

Matt and I headed to Mexico on Monday, October 4th. We picked up Pam, Matt's mom, from the airport that morning and got her situated. She was so gracious to help us out by watching Roman for the week that we were gone. I think he didn't miss us too much and had a blast with his grandma. Thanks Pam!!! We arrived to Pueblo Bonito Pacifica on late Monday evening. The resort was a holistic, spa resort. It was so simple and quiet, yet modern and inviting. Pretty much everything that we were looking for in a relaxing vacation.

Our room

View from our room as soon as we arrived

We hurried and changed for dinner at the hotel. We ate at Siempre. It ended up being a very pricey meal, but the food was amazing, so it was great!

After dinner we took a stroll on the beach and stopped to sit and talk on these little beds that they have set up on the beach.

We took the shuttle to the sister hotel up the hill to this roof top endless pool. The view was amazing!! It reminded me so much of the Cote d' Azur in France.
Matt became a tequila connoisseur

The endless pool was beautiful

Yes, I have a swimming suit on. It just doesn't look like it!!

After a day at the pool, we came back to our hotel and got dressed for dinner at Mi Casa. It was an amazing authentic Mexican food restaurant in the city.

The next day consisted of laying out all day at our pool. Can't complain a bit!
And some great poolside beverages
Loved this cactus at our pool

That night we went to dinner in the city at Edith's. It was amazing food also!! I was so amazed at how good all of the food was! We forgot our camera so we didn't get any pictures. Bummer!
Thursday, our last full day, we took the shuttle into the city to hit the main touristy beach. We hopped on a glass bottom water taxi to see the very bottom tip of the Baja Peninsula. The rocks were beautiful.

Bottom of the boat

We stopped at Pelican Island to do a little snorkeling. There were tons of fish!

Matt got nervous around the seals. He kept saying that anytime there are seals, the sharks aren't far away!

I was trying to be a pelican!

Later that day, we set up camp on the public beach. There were so many vendors!! So opposite from our hotel beach!! It was virtually empty!

Ahh! Back to the peaceful hotel after a day of craziness on the public beach.

Sunset at the hotel

Just as the sun was down, the hotel staff came out with a box of baby sea turtles. Considering the hotel was almost empty, there were about 20 of us out there letting the sea turtles free. Such an unforgettable memory of watching them waddle to the ocean.

Last day at the pool. Don't make me leave!!

One last pina colada for the both of us!

As usual, we were sad to leave vacation, but ecstatic to come home to our little boy! Roman was already asleep by the time we made it home on Friday night. Matt had to take Pam back to the airport early Saturday morning, so Roman and I greeted daddy when he came back. Roman didn't skip a beat. He was obviously thrilled to be around his Momma and Dada, but I think he had a great time with Grandma!

Overall, it was a fabulous vacation! The last vacation we'll be having for a long time!

Wedding season!

We went to Tulsa a couple of weekends ago for Matt's cousin, Jordan's wedding. He wed the beautiful Jade in a wonderful garden. It was a beautiful wedding!

Here they are at the rehearsal dinner.

Matt, Ashley, Mike, and Meg

Pam, Meg, and me

A lot of the cousins went to a bar nearby after the rehearsal dinner. Good times with the family.

Saturday the triplets came over and played with Roman all day. They had a blast!!

Pam bought Roman and Will matching batman costumes. So cute!

Peppers!

We have so many peppers right now in our garden that we don't know what to do with them!! It's so great! I had fresh jalapeno peppers to almost everything! My poor stomach! Matt is actually putting our habanero peppers in his chili!! Wow! Love the peppers!
