Brushing our teeth

Roman finally loves to brush his teeth. Things that help this process are his step stool, spitting in the sink, and the Elmo toothpaste! He always asks for more!
Such a big boy!
"I need to rinse with water daddy"
"Yummy!"
"See, this is the sink and that's the handle to turn on the water."
What a big, growing boy!

Viva la Vail!

Last week we left the Dallas icy weather for the freezing Vail weather! We enjoyed a few days with great friends from church in a 7 million dollar, 7 bedroom, 8 bath home in the mountains. Wow, it was amazing!
The group:
Jimmy, Carol, Matt, Amy, Greg, Maren, Jeff, Mandy, Matt and Ashley

Matt and I flew standby as usual. Our flights were completely free! Whoo hoo! We left our house around 4 am on Wednesday morning. We got first class on the first flight to Atlanta and then bumped to coach on the next flight to Vail. I can't complain. This is my silly husband in coach trying to catch some z's!
When we arrived at the house we were amazed! It was beautiful. The pictures definitely don't do it justice! There were two master suites and they gave us the smaller one because I'm pregnant. How nice are our friends?! This was our room.

We like to pose for pictures! Can you tell?

After warming up and getting situated, we decided to walk to the local shuttle to grab a bite to eat for lunch. The temperature was around -13 that afternoon. This girl was absolutely freezing waiting for the bus!!! I look so pitiful!
Greg, Maren, Carol, and Jimmy arrived at the house a little later that evening and we all enjoyed dinner together and then played card games around the table waiting for the Mills and the Kirby's.
Our lovely kitchen
The next morning, Matt got dressed to go attempt to snow board. He's not a dork at all!! I promise! It was so great to have Matt's brother Mike and his fiance Meg come meet us from Boulder. Mike and Matt went snow boarding while Meg, Carol, and I went shopping in Vail.
Beautiful Vail

My future sister-in-law and me!
We waited for the guys for a while to come down the hill and found out that Matt had fallen on his wrist and thought he had broken it! We think it was just a sprain, but needless to say, Matt was so frustrated because he couldn't quite conquer snow boarding. It was bad!

We all headed up the Gondola to eat lunch at the top of the mountain. We were starving!!

The top of the mountain was beautiful, but the food was not. I ordered a way over priced burrito and noticed that the green salsa tasted odd, but was so hungry that I didn't care. Well, later that night, I ended up with a mild case of food poisoning and let everything out all night long! It was miserable!!

The next day, Matt decided to go skiing with his brother while Meg sat with me at the house. Not a bad house to lounge in all day!
I could barely eat all day and was so weak! Matt was getting pretty worried about me and took me to the local hospital. They decided that I needed 2 liters of IV fluid to re-hydrate me since I'm pregnant. It took 3 different nurses to get the IV in my dehydrated veins. It was horrible pain getting poked and prodded, but about 20 minutes after the fluids started coming, I really started feeling better!
We had a great time that night eating dinner together at the house and playing card games. I actually ate again! We ended the night with a fun game of Charades! It was crazy times to say the least!

Our friends were so gracious to let Mike and Meg crash in the bunk rooms downstairs the last night so they could drive us to the airport on Saturday morning. The flights to Dallas were starting to get full due to the Super bowl being at the Cowboy's stadium. We ended up having to drive to the Denver airport and go home through Memphis. There was a snow storm the entire drive! I luckily got to sit first class the entire way home and we made it home Saturday night around 10 pm.
Through the crazy injuries and sickness, we still managed to have an amazing trip with great friends! I feel blessed!
Thanks so much to my mom for staying with Roman so we could enjoy one last trip away before baby girl comes. I was so sad to take my mom back to the airport on Sunday afternoon! Love you mom!!

Guess what?!

We found out for sure on Monday, January 31st that we're having a GIRL in June!!

I just ordered this....

for this precious tiny dancer in my belly!
Praise God! We are so excited for our little growing miracle!

Bounce house fun!

Due to the cold winter weather, we are trying to be creative with our indoor play. A few Friday mornings ago, I met Lindsey and Melissa Cason at the bounce house for some bouncing fun. Roman had so much fun with Tessa and Chloe!

Being pregnant doesn't stop this mommy from going to down slide with my boy! Ha!

Roman tried to give Chloe a kiss on the cheek. So cute!!!
We captured the three amigos together!
Later we went for burgers for lunch. Everyone had a great time!

Girl time

A few weekends ago one of my best friends from college, Kendi, came in town from Austin. I was so glad to get to spend some quality time with her. We met our old college gang, Helen and Anne, for brunch on Saturday morning. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a pedi/mani. What great girl time!

Play time outside

A couple of weekends ago, it was amazing weather here in Dallas. We went on walks and spent lots of time at the park.

We got to swing at the park

We played in leaves

We just soaked up the time together as a family

Roman loves hiking in the woods
We even had a picnic on Saturday afternoon. It was amazing weather!

I love weekends with absolutely nothing to do!
