Windermere Fall festival

Our neighborhood put on a fall festival a few weeks ago.  The kids had a blast in the jumpy house, at the petting zoo, getting hair painted, and eating junk!  It was a blast!

Roman loved picking up the chickens

Carmen loved the animals also

Roman got to ride the pony!

Roman's first bite of cotton candy!

He got his hair spray painted too!

Olivia, Aiden, and Roman are such good buddies!
We love our neighborhood so much!  It is so much more than we could have imagined!

Uncle Andy visit!

My brother flew in town a couple of weeks ago to visit.  He flew on a buddy pass, so he came in early on a Saturday morning and left on Tuesday morning.  It worked out perfectly.  We had a great time!  He and Roman wore their matching green lantern shirts all day Saturday.  Roman was in heaven!!

Saturday afternoon, we had a picnic at the lake and then went to check out my mom's home here that is being built.  Matt and I made homemade sweet and sour chicken with fried rice for dinner and Andy was in love!  Sunday, he got to check out our church and then we went to Five guys burgers for lunch. Monday morning, I had Birds on a Wire (my mom's group) so Roman, Matt and Andy went to Legoland down in Buckhead.  They had a great time.  I met them afterwards and we ate lunch at the mall and walked around.  We had to stop for a Varsity hotdog on the way home.  It was a great trip!  Next time we want Elizabeth and the girls to come too!!!

Carmen is 15 months old

Carmen is growing so fast before our eyes!!  She's getting so big and so smart!
Here are her stats:
Weight: 26 lbs (88%)
Height: 32.25" (92%)
Head Circ: 18.75" (90%)
  • She is spunky and has so much personality already.  If she doesn't want something or someone, you will know!
  • Carmen only really likes mommy and daddy to hold her.  It's a stage, but she's getting better by the day
  • Carmen eats so much!!  She usually eats almost everything that I put in front of her and then some of Roman's food.  We still call her Miss Piggy!
  • Carmen walks everywhere and is never still for a long period
  • She is still obsessed with her blankie and has to have it to sleep
  • Carmen is kind of starting to talk.  I really don't think she's every said momma yet!  She still says dadda all the time.  She knows where my eyes are and we're working on her nose.  She can also somewhat say, "shoe".
  • Speaking of shoes, she is obsessed.  She loves to go in her closet and play with her shoes.  Daddy is already scared!  Like mother like daughter!
  • Carmen has nine teeth
  • She absolutely loves her brother and it's so cute to see them chase each other and play with each other
  • Carmen still goes to bed at 8pm and wakes up at 8am every single day.  She sometimes takes a morning nap when we're home and almost always naps from around 2-4 in the afternoon.
  • She is a pretty flexible, easy going girl
  • Carmen is obsessed with Daddy and whines when he's around because she always wants to be in his arms.
  • She wears a size 4 diaper, size 5 shoes, and size 18 month clothes
  • Carmen gives the best slobbery, open mouthed kisses in town!

We love you so much precious girl!!  You bring so much joy to our lives!

Dallas Visitors!

Two of my best friends from Dallas came in town the last weekend of September   It was so great to see them!  Matt was off that weekend,  so he could mostly take care of the kids while I hung out with my friends.  He's amazing!  I picked them up at the airport on Friday night and we went to dinner at Twist.  Supposedly the Real Housewives of Atlanta have been there.  I figured Tiff and Heather would enjoy that!  At dinner Tiff noticed that she didn't have her wallet.  It had gotten stolen in the Atlanta airport.  Awesome!  Heather spotted her the whole weekend and we ended up just hanging around the house all day Saturday.
Drinks on the porch after dinner Friday night

Saturday morning started with Mimosas and college football

Saturday lunch time we made a picnic and went to the lake with cheese and crackers.  The weather was amazing.

Roman was seriously obsessed with Tiffany.  He told her that he wanted to play with her but he did not want her to put him to bed.  Well okay, then!
pics in the backyard.  Tiff did plenty of backhand springs for us and the neighbor kids.

Saturday night on the porch, there was a cool ring around the moon

I think they were amazed at all of the neighborhood kids.  They kept calling our neighborhood Pleasantville.  It was hilarious!

We had such a great time!  Don't worry, Tiff filed a lost and found report at the airport and they found her wallet with her ID still in tact.  She was able to fly home.  Good times with Good friends!!  Thanks girls for coming and visiting me!  It meant the world to me!!!

Pa and Grandma visit

September 22, Bill and Pam flew in town.  It was so much fun to spend time with them.  Sunday afternoon, we all headed to the park with burgers and had a picnic.  Afterwards, we watched the cowboys game in the basement while the kids napped.  Roman is seriously obsessed with Grandma right now!

Matt had to leave for work on Monday morning, so Bill flew home too.  Pam stayed for Roman's umbilical hernia surgery on Monday morning.  It was scheduled for 10:30 am and he couldn't have food or drink beforehand.  It was so difficult to put him in the car and distract him from any food or drink.  After the doctor and nurses were already running late, the Anesthesiologist read his paperwork that I had filled out online the week before and noticed that he had croup a week prior.  He decided that it was best not to do the surgery.  I was completely understanding, but still so frustrated that my poor three year old was starving and they hadn't noticed this in the paperwork prior!  It was so frustrating!  Roman did not get surgery and poor Bill and Pam flew in town to help for nothing.  Not really.  We enjoyed their stay.  Pam decided to stay until Thursday as planned and we had a great time hanging with her.  We even managed to go to the outlet mall with the kids!  Everything works out for a reason!

Crazy fun times!

Crazy fun times in the Franks' household lately.  It's a battle every night to get Roman to take a bath or shower, so Mat just decided to get them in the big bath with him.  Good times!  It was too funny not to photo!

It's dress up every day at our house!  Roman loves to put on his cowboy boots and now Carmen can wear hers too!
