Neighborhood Easter egg hunt

Our neighborhood had a last minute Easter egg hunt on the Saturday night before Easter.  It was so fun as always.  We were missing a lot of neighbors that were out of town.  It was fun to have my mom there too!!
It's time to go looking for eggs!

Little miss won't stand with the other kids!

Yes, we used our Halloween baskets because I forgot to buy  Easter baskets!

The kids being silly!

Let the hunt begin!

Yes, she wears tutu's!  Why not?!

Kate really helped Roman and Carmen find their eggs.  It was so  sweet.

I just love our neighborhood friends!!

Closing!

My mom flew in town on March 28th to close on her house the next day.  It is so crazy to me that we closed on our house almost a year earlier!  We are so thrilled!! It's just so surreal that she is moving here in a month!  I'm so happy!
She did it!!

Walking into her new home!

We are so thrilled!!

Roman's preschool Easter egg hunt

Roman's preschool had an Easter egg hunt last week.  It was so cute to see all the little bunny hats out looking for their eggs.  He got so much candy!  We're still eating it all!

Tulsa in March

We flew to Tulsa on March 14th to celebrate Roman's birthday with family and Meg's baby shower.  It was a great family weekend.  We had a picnic at the local park for Roman's birthday on Friday afternoon.  Pam helped so much with avenger plates/napkins, spider-man cupcakes, and pizza.  My mom drove in town to help celebrate too!

Carmen loves the park too!

We have a four year old!

Matt started handing out cupcakes

Pa wanted a cupcake before they were all gone!

Our cutie enjoyed her cupcake by herself!

Later that evening, we all just played at Grandma and Pa's house.  Roman decided he needed to use the restroom and didn't want to stop playing.  Such a silly boy!!

Both kids lounged with Grandma!
Saturday afternoon was Meg's baby shower.  She and Mike are expecting Emmett Michael Franks just two weeks before us!  Crazy!

We all enjoyed a nice dinner at Charlestons that night!
We tried to leave town on Monday evening, but there were lots of thunderstorms in Atlanta.  The flight was originally oversold.  Oh the joys of flying standby!  Because the flight was so delayed, we got seats, but didn't land until 12:30am.  We didn't get home until 2am!  These kids passed out finally after we landed.  It worked out okay because they slept in until around 10am the next morning.

On another note, Roman is such a pro flier!  I sat by him on the flight home and I had to run to the restroom. When I got back, the flight attendant let me know that he had properly ordered his water and biscoff cookie.  He's such a big boy!  Carmen, on the other hand, was on crack the whole flight and wouldn't sit still for poor Matt!  Oh well!

Four

Roman is now 4 years old!!  Time is going too fast!

Here are his stats:
Height: 40.5" (54%)
Weight: 37lb (64%)

  • Roman loves to play all the time.  He wakes up asking where we're going and who he can play with.  He is a social butterfly
  • Roman is now in all 4T clothes.  He loves anything with superheroes on it.  He wears his underwear on backwards so he can see the superheroes.  silly boy!
  • Roman is fully potty trained and night time trained too.  I thought we would be in pull ups at night for a long time, but one day he just decided that he was finished.
  • Roman has really turned a corner from the terrible 3's.  They were TERRIBLE!  It was definitely a difficult year with him.  I feel like we must have done something right because he is doing so much better with obeying, manners, and discipline.
  • Roman still loves to torture his sister!
  • He is learning the books of the New Testament from bible study and has memorized many verses.  He has a fabulous memory!
  • Roman still goes to preschool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and then goes to bible study with me on Tuesday mornings.  We have a great schedule right now.
  • Roman can't wait to turn five so he can play soccor and ride on a school bus!
We love you so much sweet boy!  You keep our lives exciting and adventurous!
