Europe anniversary trip -Zurich

Matt and I have planned this trip for a long time but we couldn't go in March near our real anniversary because you can't fly standby easily around Spring Break. We decided on Lake Como, Italy because his cousins kept telling us how amazing it is. Up until last week, we figured that we would fly into Milan and take the short train ride over. Then Matt noticed that Atlanta had a direct flight to Zurich, Switzerland. So exciting!
We left on Saturday evening for Zurich. There were only five first class seats left and Matt and I were number 5 and 6. He gave me the seat. I felt so bad for him.

We made the joke that I was the first class queen and he was the middle bologna sandwich King! Here was my menu for the flight!

It was lovely. I enjoyed a romantic movie during dinner and ended it with an ice cream sundae. Then went to sleep on my flat bed with a pillow and blanket. I was awakened to breakfadt of scrambled eggs with asparagus and tomatoes. He he!
We landed around 8:45am Zurich time. We were still delirious because it was 2am back home. Our hotel room wasn't ready, so we took the train down to the city center and walked around. We found a cute breakfast place outside on a patio and people watched.

Afterward, we walked back to the train station and got back to our room for a shower and nap. Nothing like rejuvenation! We headed back to the city center for a boat ride on lake Zurich. It was so beautiful!

We ended the evening at this restaurant that the pilots call the armory. It's been around since the 1400's! The food had a German feel. It was unbelievable!
Overall, Zurich has been amazing! The city is immaculately clean, the people are friendly, and it is crazy the amount of money a lot of these locals probably have. I was shocked how much we enjoyed this city. Tomorrow we are on to Italy by train!

Memorial weekend

We ended up having a blast over memorial weekend even though Matt had to fly early Saturday through Monday night. Friday was the last day of school so we all soaked the kids with a water fun fight off the bus!

Afterwards, we all headed up to the pool for pizza and swimming. Kimberly brought the boys over to swim with us. We ended the night with a late night golf cart ride.

Saturday Roman and I went on the Mcleod's boat. My mom watched Carmrn and Hudson. We had such s great time!

Sunday morning our church was cancelled so I had some neighborhood kids over to play. Then we went to lunch at my mom's to break up the day. That night we headed to the Hull's pool for a homemade pizza party. I made all the dough and Brian grilled the pizzas on his new grill. It rained a lot, but the kids still swam. They had a blast!
Once again, we ended the night with a golf cart ride.

Monday, I took the kids to rent a movie to have some down time and then ended up at the pool. We went to Nancy's party for Bailey's graduation that evening down the street. It was so fun!
We have the best neighborhood with such fun people!

January lately

January has come and gone so fast! Here's a few insights of our lives this month:

Every night that Matt is flying someone ends up in my bed. I'm totally ok with it until all four of us are in there. Then I'm tempted to leave the room and sleep in one of their beds! That completely defeats the purpose! I know my time with them is short and precious so I try to soak up these moments.

Carmen finally had a friend, Olivia, over from her preschool. They had a great time!

It somewhat snowed a couple of flurries so school got let out early. These littles were memorized.

This boy keeps me on my toes!! He gets into everything and wants to be a part of everything that I do!

Meema had the older two sleepover at her house on Martin Luther King holiday and I got a sleepover with my baby. He melts my heart!

It rained one Friday morning and all the kids were in school. I absolutely love rain, the bible, and coffee all together!

This girl is such a sweetheart!

Hudson and his buddy Sam!

It actually snowed 1/4" on Friday night, so we had a few neighbors over for happy hour and pasta, of course!
This poor guy fell asleep on the floor!!

Carmen took this picture when we were having dinner at the McLeod's. So funny!

Pasta time

Let the pasta begin! Matt and I bought each other the kitchen aid pasta attachment. It has been so much fun making pasta and learning more and more about cooking. Our freshly milled wheat makes the best, nutritious pasta. I've even made Kamut pasta. We eat a Ton of different types now! We absolutely love to cook together!

Potty time

Someone decided he wanted to buy big boy underwear from the store! He did great for a couple days, but then we gave up and put diapers back on him. I'm in NO rush to potty train. Throwing a diaper on Hudson is way easier than taking him to every public potty! He's super close though!

More Christmas!

It was different having Santa come to grandma's house, but we loved it! The kids got everything they wanted and more!!
