Matt and I have planned this trip for a long time but we couldn't go in March near our real anniversary because you can't fly standby easily around Spring Break. We decided on Lake Como, Italy because his cousins kept telling us how amazing it is. Up until last week, we figured that we would fly into Milan and take the short train ride over. Then Matt noticed that Atlanta had a direct flight to Zurich, Switzerland. So exciting!
We left on Saturday evening for Zurich. There were only five first class seats left and Matt and I were number 5 and 6. He gave me the seat. I felt so bad for him.
We made the joke that I was the first class queen and he was the middle bologna sandwich King! Here was my menu for the flight!
It was lovely. I enjoyed a romantic movie during dinner and ended it with an ice cream sundae. Then went to sleep on my flat bed with a pillow and blanket. I was awakened to breakfadt of scrambled eggs with asparagus and tomatoes. He he!
We landed around 8:45am Zurich time. We were still delirious because it was 2am back home. Our hotel room wasn't ready, so we took the train down to the city center and walked around. We found a cute breakfast place outside on a patio and people watched.
Afterward, we walked back to the train station and got back to our room for a shower and nap. Nothing like rejuvenation! We headed back to the city center for a boat ride on lake Zurich. It was so beautiful!
We ended the evening at this restaurant that the pilots call the armory. It's been around since the 1400's! The food had a German feel. It was unbelievable!
Overall, Zurich has been amazing! The city is immaculately clean, the people are friendly, and it is crazy the amount of money a lot of these locals probably have. I was shocked how much we enjoyed this city. Tomorrow we are on to Italy by train!
