6 whole months old!

Roman turned 6 months old on September 12th. I honestly can not believe it! My baby is growing so fast! He is still the sweetest thing ever! Below are his stats:

Weight - 18 lbs (55%)
Height - 26-1/4" (50%)
Head - 44.4" (60%)

Roman still sleeps 11 hours at night with 3 naps. Except at daycare. He will only nap in 20 minute intervals. He doesn't want to miss the other kiddos playing!

Roman now eats breakfast and dinner. He has eaten sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, squash, carrots, bananas, apple sauce, pears, and prunes. He makes the funniest faces when I introduce something new, but still eats it. He LOVES to eat! What a boy!!

Here is Roman trying squash!

I am still nursing him. He nurses or takes a bottle of breast milk 4 times a day with one formula bottle still at night.

He sits up on his own!! Roman loves to play with his toys, now sitting up. He looks so much older to me when he sits up!

He babbles and whines a lot! Especially in the evening. His whine can get a little old, but we still love him!

I love it when I'm holding him and he gets excited (usually watching Captain) and squeezes his whole body really hard and then goes in for a big hug. My sweet boy.

He is so much more aware of his surroundings. He watches Captain and laughs at him. I love watching him grow!

Dear Roman,
You have been such a blessing to daddy and me these past six months. God is so good to us for providing us with such a sweet boy. I am honored to be your mommy! I love you more than you'll ever know!!
Love,
Mommy

Plano Hot Air Balloon Festival!

Last weekend, we met our friends Kristin, Chad, Madison, Corey, Lindsey, and Chloe for the hot air balloon festival in Plano. We had a great time! It was so hot, though!! Poor babies! I had to take Roman's clothes off because he was sweating so much! Afterwards, we went and had some food and watched football. Roman ate a couple of cheerios and a teething biscuit for the first time. Every time I'm with Lindsey, she teaches me new things that Roman can try. I love it! Below are some pics!

Hot mommas!!
Sleepy babies!
That's one sweaty, sleepy Roman!

Tulsa trip

The weekend after Labor Day we decided to take a short trip to Tulsa. We normally go to the lake every Labor Day and this year we didn't get to, so we decided to drive to Tulsa and see Matt's family. We had a great time! The triplets LOVE Roman!

Friday night, we all went to Charlestons, Bill and Pam's favorite Restaurant. The waiters all know Bill and Pam because they eat there about 4-5 times a week! So they kind of treat us like royalty! So fun!

Saturday morning, Whitney was scheduled to run a 5K, so I decided to meet her and run. I was so proud that I ran the entire thing!! Never done that before! Afterwards, we met up with the whole family for a big breakfast!

Matt's cousin, Erika had her baby last month, Henry James. We got to stop by and see Roman's new buddy!!

Overall, it was a great weekend with the family!!

Boomer Sooners

Last weekend, Matt's parents came in town to see us and to watch Roman so Matt and I could go to the OU game at the new Cowboy's stadium with his cousins. I am so mad that we didn't get any pictures with his parents! Oh well, next time. Matt and I had such a great time with Lee and Chris and it was so much fun to see the new stadium! Too bad it was a horrible game! Lee and I were so hot from walking to the tailgating area that Matt paid someone to give us water cups. I can't remember ever being so hot and sticky! I even managed to find a place to pump during the third quarter. Oh Roman, the things I do for you!

Cousins!

Time with the Meema!

My mom came and stayed with us the last week of August. It was so great for Roman to get some one-on-one Meema time. Matt had his fantasy football draft for 4 days so my mom came to hang with me. Why does fantasy football draft need to be four whole days?! Anyways, poor Matt, my mom and I went shopping!! I bought clothes for me, accessories for the house at Z Gallerie, and dining room chairs! Sorry Matt! Ha! We had a great time!

Roman started eating solids that week. It was so fun to see his face when we would introduce a new food.

Before Matt left for his long boys weekend, we had our "training camp 09" at our house. Roman is so close to crawling, but just not quite there!

We got lots of playing time with Meema and Roman. They both had a great time!

We also took Roman grocery shopping in his cute cart cover. (Thanks to cousins Mindy and Jimmy!) Roman absolutely loved sitting up in the grocery cart. He was smiling at everyone. By the time we took pictures, he was exhausted!

Thanks Mom for coming!! We love you!!

A day of working at home...

Yesterday was so crazy that I just feel the need to blog about it. I want to remember what a typical day of working from home is like. My mom is in town all week - thank goodness!! Here's what happened:

6:30 am - I woke up and nursed Roman

7:00 am - Change Roman's WET diaper, take Captain out, pump while eating breakfast and playing with Roman

7:30 am - Go on a walk with my mom, Roman, and Captain

8:00 am - Put Roman down for a nap and turn on computer and start replying to work emails

8:30 am - get on treadmill and run a mile then do crunches and stretch

9:15 am - take a quick shower and throw my wet hair up in a bun. Grab a cup of wonderful coffee

9:25 am - Wake up Roman and nurse him while working on some AutoCAD drawings on the computer

9:55 am - Throw Captain in the back bedroom and give Roman to my mom to play with him

10:00 am - lock myself upstairs while on a conference call so they can not hear the dog or baby. I put it on mute for most of the time. While on mute, I noticed that Roman had spit up on his sheet in his crib, so I proceed to change his sheet and get the laundry together for after the call.

10:30 am - Roman has his 2nd poopy diaper already for the day. After changing him, I try to play with him for a moment

10:45 am - Put Roman down for a nap

11:00 am - warm up a quick bite to eat for lunch and receive a phone call from EDS. "Can you come up here and pick up some plans that I need you to work on?" I respond, of course! Because that's what I have to do. I throw on a pair of jeans and drive to the office with wet hair and no makeup.

12:30 pm - Come home with 3 new projects (one of these includes 13 drawings that I need to create!) PANIC!!

12:35 pm - Try to nurse Roman while I start working on the computer. He won't nurse. Then he has another poopy diaper. My mom changes it while I continue to work. It has blood in it! Then he has another one! I call the doctor and they are on a lunch break until 1:30! Are you kidding me?! I continue to try to nurse while working. My mom takes Roman's temperature - good. So she plays with him while I work.

1:30 pm- Doctor definitely wants to see Roman. We schedule it for 3:40 pm. I continue to work.

2:00 pm - Roman goes down for a short nap while I work

2:45 pm - I wake Roman up and try to nurse him again. He then has another bloody diaper!

3:20 pm - We leave for the doctor. Yes, my hair is still fairly wet and I am in my pj pants.

3:45 pm - Doctor thinks it was just an inner tear in the skin and not to worry. But we did get the go ahead to give Roman solids twice a day now. I am told to re-think his schedule and try for only 5 bottles a day.

4:30 pm - Run to the grocery store to pick up some baby food for Roman. I plan to make it at home in the future, but this will work for now.

5:00 pm - My mom plays with Roman while I continue to work. I finally finish the 13 drawings, but my Internet quits working so I can't send them off. I'll deal with that later! I start cooking dinner

6:00 pm - nurse Roman then my mom feeds him his rice cereal while I cook dinner

6:30 pm - we sit down to a homemade meal of rice, shrimp, scallops, and veggies (it was fabulous!)

7:00 pm - My mom once again plays with Roman while I send off the drawings to EDS. I then get to enjoy Roman and my mom. We just play!

8:00 pm - I give Roman and bath and then we give him a bottle and put him to bed

9:00 pm - My mom is passing out on the couch wondering why she is tired! She goes to bed and I pump again

10:00 pm - I finally can relax and go to bed after getting all of the bottles ready for the next day and taking care of Captain.

Wow, it's non stop! The good news is that Roman is okay!!! Thank goodness my mom is here. Why can't she just move here?!
