More fun in the sun with my buddy!

Last Saturday afternoon Lindsey and Corey had us over for some fun in their backyard. They set up a play pool, bounce house, and water ball toy for the kiddos. Roman had a blast! We fed him and Chloe dinner together outside and then they had a bath together. We put Roman down for bed at their house and then had a late dinner on their patio kid free. It was a great time, as usual!

Roman is all ready to hit the sun! His poor little umbilical hernia still sticks out so much! It's his little perfect, imperfection!

They had matching hats!

Roman held on to the pink watering cup pretty much all afternoon!

Our family!

Daddy is so silly!
Now he's got both kids!
Check out Roman's belly!

Enjoying dinner with mommy!
Lindsey made amazing homemade organic strawberry ice cream!

The Long family!

Splish Splash they were taking a bath!

ADORABLE!

We kept trying to get Chloe to kiss Roman

Playing in our diapers!

Chloe kept putting necklaces on Roman!
This is what happens when you play with girls too much!!

First big boy hair cut!

So I broke down last night and decided to give Roman a hair cut. I kept trying to let it grow all cute and shaggy like some little boys have. It just wasn't working! I really think he looks even cuter now! I just trimmed up the back and sides.
Here's a profile shot of Roman while he's talking to Captain
The back might not be completely straight. I had to cut it while he was taking a bath.

The top looks shorter, but I promise I didn't cut anything on top. Strange!

I think he looks older now

"Stop taking my picture mommy! I just want my milk and want to go to bed!"

Pool time!

Matt and I decided that it's time that we fork over the money and purchase a new pool for our home! Roman agreed! Man, it was so expensive! We've really got to start saving money after this huge purchase!

The pool is so big, both of my boys can fit in it!

The pool even has a slide!

Only face first down the slide boys!

It's really fun to dance and jump in the pool!
Matt and I went "swimming" on Sunday afternoon while Roman was taking a nap. This pool is so functional! What a great $12 splurge!!

Talking on the phone

Roman is now obsessed with my iPhone. He holds it up to his ear and babbles. It's so cute!
just talking away!

Play date at the splash pad!

Last Friday morning, Helen, Anne, Tiffany, Lindsey, and I all met up at a splash pad for a fun play date with the kiddos. When the water turned on at 10 am, Roman ran to it and just SCREAMED in excitement. I've never seen anything like it! Adorable!! He played so hard!

Helen and Lindsey with Jake and Chloe
Little Jake enjoyed the water too! Chloe posed for me!

Roman kept going back and forth through this little water tunnel.
There's nothing like a soggy snack after a hard mornings work/play!
Here's a video of Roman enjoying the water...

I just kept thinking, "Wow, this would be so fun to be a stay at home mom and do this every day!" Someday... I cherish our Fridays together so much and love that I get extra time with Roman and get to work some too. Everything always works out and we've got a great situation right now. What a fun day!

Memorial Weekend!

Normally on Memorial weekend we go to the lake or to Missouri. This is the first time in years that we decided to stay in town. Matt is just plain sick of traveling! It was a great decision. We had a fabulous weekend!
Friday morning Roman and I went to Lindsey and Chloe's house for a play date. The kids had a blast playing outside!
We blew up her little pool and they just played and played!

They were so happy!

Roman loves watching Chloe!

This is how he got in and out of the pool. Roman actually tried to get in and did a full flip in the water. He looked up at me as Lindsey is gasping for breath and I'm just laughing. He was fine, but still has NO FEAR!

We moved the slide to go into the water, then they decided that they loved the swing too!

"It's my turn!"

Later, we cleaned up and had some lunch. At lunch, Roman said his first word!! Lindsey can testify that he looked down at her dog and said "dog" so clearly! We were both so proud!!

Saturday morning, we packed up Lindsey and Corey's car and all headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo. It was so much fun!!
The mommies and our toddlers

The Long family
The Karam's decided to join us!

We loved the monkeys!!

The dads and their kiddos

Roman prefers the taller view of the animals

We tried to get a picture of us girls. It kinda worked...

The elephants were so cool!

I was trying to show Roman the Giraffes!

Roman said "turtle" and "bird" for the first time! Daddy got to witness both!

Daddy is so much fun!!!!

We love the Long family!

Poor Roman was getting so hot and tired!

The babies fell asleep just in time to get back in the car. We thought for sure they would continue their nap the whole way home. Not the case! They stayed awake the entire drive home. Crazy!

Once we got back to our house, we decided to let Chloe and Roman play together to get their energy out. It worked! They kept playing peek-a-boo in this little tent that we have. It was adorable!!!

Sunday, we went to church and then just lounged around all day. It was fabulous. Monday afternoon we packed up and headed to Jay and Suzy's house for a Memorial Day pool party. We had a great time! Roman loves all of his buddies!

Roman, Austin, and Reece had to take a snack break from the pool

Everyone hanging out in the water!

Roman loved eating his snacks in the shade

Roman didn't like mommy's sunglasses as much as we thought he would!

Jackson enjoyed Roman's crab toy!

The guys getting to relax and hang out

They fixed ribs to eat and Roman was obsessed!

Nothing like chillin by the pool!

Reece loved playing in Roman's crab too!

We tried to get a family picture together
Overall, it was a busy, fabulous weekend! Thanks to all of the men and women serving in our military!
