Buddies!

Our new neighbor friends invited us to dinner one Sunday night with all the kids.  We ate a Ninja, a Japanese restaurant.  The kids loved it and had a blast together! I love that we're making life long friends so soon!  We feel blessed!

Aiden and Roman are such good buddies!  He missed Roman so much when we were in Dallas!

Spontaneous Dallas Trip!

A couple of weeks ago, it happened again!  Matt was supposed to come home that day and instead got a four day trip.  I just couldn't stand sitting at home by ourselves for so long with nothing to do.  I called Lindsey and asked if we could come stay with them.  They were luckily free, so we flew in that night!  We landed around 8pm central time, so my kids were exhausted.  I've never flown with two kids before by myself.  It's amazing what you can do when you're determined!  They did great!

Lindsey's kids were asleep when we got home, so Roman and Chloe were SO excited to see each other Thursday morning!  Chloe loves to dress up and so does Roman, so it took no time at all to get Tinkerbell back on my boy!  What can you say?!  It was hilarious!

Breakfast with four kids!

Helen came over with baby Grey and Jake.  I was so thrilled to see them!!

Helen and I and our kiddos

Lindsey and I and our kiddos

We had plenty of dance parties!!

Happy hour!

Bathing beauties!  My little girl (left) has the biggest tushy ever!

The big kids took a shower together

Jammy play time
Heather got to come over later Thursday night for a little bit.  It was so great to see her.  So bummed I didn't get a photo!
Friday morning, Kristin brought Madison over to play in the slip n slide and they all had lunch together too.  It was great to see them!

I'm not kidding, Roman rarely took the Tinkerbell off!

During nap time on Friday, Lindsey let me borrow her car to sneak away and see Bither and her sweet baby, Maebri.  It was so great to see them!
Late Friday afternoon, we enjoyed Tex-Mex  food.  A must for these Georgians!  The hot Texas weather was a little cooler, so the kids got to play outside.

Jump Tinkerbell, jump!!

Saturday morning, we enjoyed breakfast outside.  Tiff came over  for a little breakfast and then drove us to the airport.

The theme photo of the week!!

Thank you Lindsey and Corey for letting us INVADE your home for three days!  We had such a blast with you guys!  You are such great friends!  I feel so blessed that I got to see most of my close, best friends for only being there such a short time and no advance notice. It was such a fabulous trip!  Totally worth the stressful flights with kids by myself.  I also feel so grateful that when we landed back in Atlanta, I knew this was home now.  It felt so good to know that I still have such great friends back in Texas, but this is my home.  True friends never go away.  God is good!

Hard workers

I think Matt and I should become professional painters. We painted our front doors, shutters, and back deck. We rock! Matt also built a retention wall in front of the house. He's amazing!! Saving money left and right... That's what we do!

Paint!

Last week Matt was here the whole week!  Crazy!  We got bored one afternoon, so mommy whipped out the paint.  Roman had a blast.  Carmen had fun until she started eating paint.  Her party ended real fast!  Good times!

George enjoyed watching us paint too.  I was dog sitting for 6 days.  He's a great dog across the street from us.

Georgia winery

Wednesday afternoon when my mom was here, Matt and I actually got to go on a date!  Gasp!  As soon as we put the kids down for a nap, we drove up north to the Georgia wineries.  It was so fun to just ride in the car together with no kids.  We went to Frogtown winery and then Montaluce.

Montaluce was a beautiful Tuscan style little neighborhood with homes surrounding the winery.  They have a restaurant the is open for dinner on weekends so we didn't get to try it, but heard it was great food.

After the wineries, we headed to downtown Dahlonega for dinner at Corkscrew Cafe.  So yummy!  The owner was there taking care of us.  We really enjoyed the day and drove home in time to put Roman to bed.

Meema time!

My mom flew in town on July 24th, which is the same day that my dad passed away nine years ago.  It's always a hard day but it was great to have her there.  Matt watched the kids that afternoon while we went down to Buckhead to check out the malls.  After shopping, we ate at Atlanta fish market to celebrate her upcoming birthday on the 28th.  It turned out to be a great day.
Meema stayed until Sunday so we got to spend lots of time together.  Friday night, we watched the opening Olympics ceremony together.  Roman really enjoyed it too!

Saturday, July 28th was Meema's birthday.  We started the day with French toast for breakfast and presents.

I got us matching bracelets from Stella and Dot.  My friend, Amy sells the jewelry and told me about these special bracelets.  All of the proceeds went to ovarian cancer research.  My mom loved it!  Except she thought she lost it while on our shopping trip to the outlet mall later that afternoon.  She had the workers at Chic fil A digging in the trash can looking for her bracelet.  Sure enough one of the workers found it in Ann Taylor.  Thank goodness!

We love you Meema!  So glad you could come visit!!
