My sweet little girl just won't watch tv!! I sat her up for success the other day while Roman was at school and I was trying to vacuum. I got her all comfy on my bed with her blankie and she sat there for maybe five minutes. It's so funny because most parents have to monitor tv time with their children, but not Carmen! Roman would watch it all day if he could. I just can't get her to sit still. How am I supposed to nurse Hudson?! My only hope is that she plays really well by herself. Hopefully she can occupy herself while I'm tending to Hudson at crazy times. I know it will all work out, but I'm still a little nervous of the near future!

36 weeks
Last week, I was 36 weeks and took these photos. It is seriously amazing how big my belly can get! I'm getting huge and Hudson and getting big too! His little heel keeps kicking my right rib. I don't ever want to forget the feeling of a baby kicking. It's such a miracle! I'm experiencing all the typical pregnancy pains. Leg cramps, sleepless nights, heartburn, etc. I'm just trying to stay positive and know that this is our last little miracle and it's all worth it. We're getting so excited to meet you little Hudson!!

Carmen and her tea cup
Carmen is a hoarder! She collects things and carries them with her everywhere she goes! One item that goes most places is her tea cup. She loves to pour her drinks in it and sip it carefully with both holds. She also loves to collect food in it too. The other day I had just finished running to the restroom and shut the toilet lid as usual. I head back to the kitchen and not even 30 seconds later, I notice Carmen chugging water from her tea cup. Where could that have come from?! She hurries back to the bathroom and goes back for a refill from the toilet!! Ahhh!! You have to watch their every move at this age!!! Silly girl!
Bedtime Conversation with Roman
I just got finished putting Roman to bed and after reading, singing, and prayers, I kissed him goodnight and told him I loved him. He said, "I love you too and mommy, I'm going to get a star tonight (on his bedtime chart). If I get scared, I'll just ask God to help me." I said, "That's right! Like your bible verse, Do not be afraid, your prayers have been heard." Then he finished it with Luke 1:13. I'm so proud of my big boy and love that he's got God's word memorized already and using it!

Forward facing
We finally turned Carmen forward facing in the car. They recommend now that you wait until age two. She actually did pretty good facing backwards, but was sometimes climbing in the car and trying to get in Roman's seat. This huge, pregnant momma had no more energy fighting her by trying to carry her back to her seat. The kids were excited to ride to church forward facing this morning. She's one day shy of being 22 months. Matt and I are kind of emotional over the fact that we have two forward facing kids now! Time is flying!!
Roman's fourth surgery
Our poor boy had to have surgery again! He had to get his ear tubes removed because they were completely stuck and weren't going anywhere. They had been in for two years now. We were afraid his ear drum would grow over them. Anyways the doctor described this situation happening in the rare 10%. Awesome! Poor boy did great. I took him down to Scottish rite children's and it was nice that they really cater to kids. He threw up once after he woke up from anesthesia, but afterwards, he was playing full force later that afternoon! We figured it was best to get the surgery over with now before swimming season and before I have three children! Roman can't get his ears wet for six weeks.
I was by myself that day while Matt was flying, so my neighbor, Diana, watched Carmen. She took her to the gym with her son Aiden and then they played together with her weekly babysitter while Diana went to tennis. Carmen seemed to do great! She now loves Diana! I'm so grateful to have such great neighbors!! I'm also so grateful that we got this surgery done with! Ready to move on!

BB collecting
Carmen's favorite thing to do is collect the older neighborhood boys' plastic little BB pellets. It's nerve wrecking for me that she's going to swallow them, but so far so good. She's definitely working on those fine motor skills! Ha! Someone once described her as a boy in cute frilly clothes. That's a little bit of a stretch, but you can definitely tell that she has an older brother!
