23 months and growing

I've gotten the privilege to be at home with Roman a lot this week while daddy has been in Atlanta for training. He's learning so much every day! We've had so much fun together and some hard times too. I would definitely say that Roman is in his terrible two's!
Here's the latest happenings...
  • Roman still loves Elmo! He requests to watch him daily. He also loves the Leap Frog Alphabet video. He calls it, "Ahh"
This is Roman standing on the ottoman and watching Elmo
  • Roman loves to be outside and look for sticks in the woods. He would stay out there forever if he could!
  • His eating is so funny. One day, he'll eat us out of the house and the next he won't hardly touch his meals. Roman's favorite foods are smoothies, scrambled eggs with ketchup, homemade or frozen pizza, fish, apples, strawberries, nuts, bananas, and of course milk.
There's nothing like a fresh smoothie mustache!
  • Roman can throw some serious fits! He threw himself on the floor yesterday before nap time because he didn't want to take a nap. This was strange behavior. I just let him cry for a minute, then he turned to me and started trying to hit me! I picked him up calmly and just held him tight and kept telling him that I love him. It finally calmed him down. He was great the rest of the day. I just try to always stay calm when he gets upset. Someone needs to be calm! He's trying to test his boundaries as he's learning about his little world. I understand, it's just crazy times!
  • Roman can be so sweet and helpful. I notice him helping other children when he's around them and his teacher at school says that he's always trying to help the other kids. I hope this behavior stays around when baby sister comes!
  • Roman is getting SO picky with his clothing! We went to a birthday party on Saturday and along with his cute smocked outfit, he had to wear his cowboy boots and batman jacket. Whatever works!! He's obsessed with his boots or 'boops' as he calls them!

  • You can cut Roman's food in pieces, but he better not see it! He freaks out if something is cut or added to his food! Wow, it's the end of the world!
  • Last night, I was coughing a lot during his bedtime stories and singing to him. I noticed that every time I coughed, he would say, "bless". So cute! He was blessing me! Then he pretended to cough and said bless again. It's amazing how much he picks up just from me saying bless you to him when he sneezes!
  • Roman loves his daddy so much! I think it's because lately mommy is always around and daddy time is special. It gets a little old to hear, "mommy stop" over and over and then run to daddy. But I understand it's just part of growing up!
  • Roman is all boy! Between building tall block towers just to push them down and jump up and down laughing to building forts over our furniture and climbing everywhere, he is all boy! Just the way we love it!
We love you sweet Roman and pray the we are training you into the little boy that God has created you to be. We are so honored to be your parents!!
