Spiderman doll!

Roman has been doing so good going pee pee and poo on the potty.  We started a potty training chart and gave him a sticker every time he went.  He also gets a M&M.  A couple of weeks ago, we were walking through target and saw a Spiderman doll.  Roman wanted it so bad!  I told him that when we finish the chart, he can have the doll.  Guess who completed his chart today?!  I rushed Carmen and Roman to target this morning after Roman went pee pee one more time.  He was so THRILLED to say the least!  He kept saying, "I Love him" to the doll.  Later today Roman held Spiderman's hand while watching Dora.  So cute!  We're taking him on the airplane tonight to Atlanta.  It's safe to say that this is one of Roman's favorite days ever!  We're so proud of our big boy!!

Valentines Day

I tried to capture some pics of the kids today.  We had a good Valentines day.  Daddy was in Atlanta training, so we missed him lots!  This past weekend Matt got me white roses, a sweet card, and a facial.  He took Roman with him to pick out the flowers and a balloon.  Roman was absolutely set on getting the big red balloon that said "Te Amo".  So funny!

These came the other day in a package from Grandma and Pa to Carmen.  We are so blessed to get so many cute clothes from them!  Roman's package just came yesterday full of spiderman and polo shirts!

Park Time!

This has been the strangest, warmest winter ever!  I love winter and I completely miss the snow and ice, but I'm trying not to complain and just embrace the warm weather.  We had a great morning the other day at the park! I took Carmen and Spider Man (BTW, Roman wore his Halloween costume at least 3 times last week!  He wore it to the gym and to parent's night out at church.  There are some battles just not worth fighting!).

Big boy loves the big kid swing now!

Carmen's first time in the swing!  Roman told me to sit her down so I could play with him.  Typical!

potty time

Roman has been going pee pee and poo poo in the potty off and on for a long time.  He usually goes in the evening before bath.  I've never put pressure on him, but we've always rewarded with a M&M.  I wouldn't call it potty training, because he always has worn diapers and only would go if he initiated the process.  About a month ago, I felt like he was ready. So I put his big boy mickey mouse underwear on him and told him to let mommy and daddy know if he needed to go.  Well, after the fourth time of peeing in his underwear and saying, "Uh oh, I need a new pair of underwear", we decided he wasn't ready at all!  I put the underwear away and did nothing more.
Two weeks ago, I was browsing babies r us with the kids and Roman randomly announced that he wanted big boy underwear.  We went and looked at them and he picked out the spider man underwear.  I really didn't want to try again so soon, but I figured if he was initiating the process, then I should just go with it.  He only had one accident that day!  He did great for the next few days too!  I still put him in a pull up for nap time and bedtime.  We've been to the gym and church and he's only had one accident so far at church.  He's doing great, but he still has accidents when he's playing hard with his friends.  I mean, who wants to stop and go potty when you could play?!  I've decided that this is probably going to be a long process.  Sometimes Roman will wake up from nap and just not want to put his big boy underwear back on.  I'm just not going to push it too hard right now and go with the flow. (ha - no pun intended).  I certainly don't want to make the process a negative thing.  I don't think he's going to go to kindergarten in diapers!  I'm so proud of his progress so far!  Our baby boy is growing up so fast!!

Fleas!

Yikes!  A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a couple little bugs around that hopped.  Next thing I knew, Roman had bug bites on his back and belly.  Captain had fleas!  It was terrible!  We were vacuuming everywhere and trying to get rid of them without all of the chemicals, but we would keep seeing one or two here and there.  Finally, I had enough and we had the bug guy come.  He sprayed the house that afternoon while we took Captain to the vet to get flea dipped and cleaned.  We took the kids to the zoo all day with the Monda's and then went to the Long's for dinner.  We headed home around 10pm that night with two very tired kids.  Sure enough, the house was still fuming with chemicals!  I knew we couldn't keep Carmen and Roman in those fumes!  We hurried and packed a bag while Matt called Corey and asked if we could come back over to their house.  We ended up spending the night in the Long's upstairs loft room.  It was adventurous to say the least. Thanks so much to them for letting us crash!  We all enjoyed a great big breakfast the next morning and had lots of fun!  I am so grateful that the fleas are officially gone.  It was terrible and we didn't even have that bad of an infestation!  I hope we never have to go through this process again!!

Carmen and her buddy Erin

One of my best friends, Heather, came over the other night with her sweet daughter Erin.  She is 7 weeks older than Carmen.  Erin is such a trooper.  She's seriously the best baby I've ever seen.  She just slept in Heather's arms until around 10pm when she went home.  I loved having them here.  Roman loved making Erin laugh and showing off for Heather.
