We spent the Tuesday night before the 4th with the Jansen's. We all went to dinner at a new burger joint and it was a crazy dinner. Carmen was so fussy during the whole dinner and then it started pouring rain. Despite the rain, we decided to go ahead over to their house and shoot some fireworks in the rain. I put Carmen asleep in a pack n' play in their room and she transferred perfectly! The boys loved shooting off fireworks! They had a blast together.
Ashley and I enjoyed watching the fireworks from the front porch swing

We enjoyed watching the city of Cumming fireworks from their front porch. It was a great show!
The morning of the 4th, we met up with the Jansen's again for the local steam engine train parade. The boys loved watching the trains despite the loud horns!

Carmen and Luke are little buddies also!
After the parade, we went back to their house for packed lunches. We had such a great time with the Jansens. They are such great friends!! After naptime, Matt had to go to work and I took the kids to our neighbors, the Shepard's, pool party. We had so much fun swimming and bonding with the neighbors. Roman swam with Liliana, Brad, and Lindsay. I realized we were surrounded by a bunch of New Yorkers. Lillianna's grandparents who live here during the summer are Italian and she made the best lasagna that I've ever had. It's just not right to eat that much lasagna while wearing a swimming suit! Ha! They were all so great and decided to move the little firework show in front of our house so I could put Carmen to bed and the monitor would reach. Have I mentioned before how great our neighbors are?! We had a great 4th! Happy birthday America!
