38 weeks!

I am 38 weeks pregnant and now it's just a waiting game! Here's the facts:
  • My belly is HUGE!
  • I still keep having real contractions every day about 3-5 times throughout the day and night, but nothing timeable yet.
  • I'm managing the horrific heat outside okay by staying indoors lots or in water.
  • I've gained 26 lbs so far. According to the nurse, I didn't gain anything last week. Strange, I guess she's close to her full weight.
  • I'm currently dilated at 1 and 50% effaced
  • She is very low! Nothing else to be said about that.
  • I walk and exercise so slowly now. It took me almost 45 minutes this morning to walk around our park. It normally takes less than 30!
  • I'm still craving fruits and anything "cool" like salads and juices
  • I'm actually sleeping okay! This is much better than when I was pregnant with Roman. I sleep around 8 hours every night right now with the exception of waking up to use the bathroom every two hours. I'm literally parched with water in the middle of the night. All times of the day too!
  • I'm running out of clothes to wear at an incredible pace! It's so funny to me that my maternity jeans and pants are so uncomfortable, but I can still wear my normal stretchy workout shorts and pants. I live in workout clothes, pajamas, and dresses. No need to buy more maternity clothes now!
  • Nesting is in full gear! There is nothing else to nest! The car seat is in the car, the swings are out and ready, the pack-n-play is set up, baby blankets and clothes are washed, and my bag is packed!
  • I'm definitely not as anxious about her coming as I was with Roman. I know that Carmen will be here in God's perfect timing and I'm just trying to embrace these last few days as a family of three.

Since mommy has been home...

We've had a great time! It's been close to 100 degrees here in Texas every single day, so if we're outside, we prefer water. Matt has only been gone two different days this week, so we've had lots of fun as a family. Roman has played with many friends too!

Monday we went mommy's doctor to check on Carmen. As we were in the waiting room, in walked Chloe and Lindsey! It was a great surprise! After nap Matt, Roman, and I all headed to the Monda's house to swim with Jackson, Cohen, and Finn. Tuesday was another family day at home.

Roman and mommy played in his kiddie pool on Wednesday while daddy had to go to work. I rocked a bikini at 9-1/2 months pregnant. Not a pretty sight for anyone!
Mommy has been baking a lot too! These oatmeal banana muffins were amazing! Roman took one bite and his face lit up saying, "I like this!" So cute!
We went to the church 'mommy and me' play time in the sand volley ball court on Thursday morning. Roman loved following Chloe and Lily around. (I stole these great pictures from Carol's blog!)

Thursday afternoon we had the Long's over to watch the Mavericks game. Roman always loves playing with Chloe! Friday morning we all slept in until almost 9 am! We woke up and met the Copeland's from church at their neighborhood pool. Roman had fun swimming with Chloe and Hailey. Matt had to go to work on Saturday, so Roman and mommy hung out all morning. After nap, we headed over to the Monda's again for pool time. We enjoyed a great day at church on Sunday and then went to the Mill's house for the final Maverick's game and pizza. Roman loved playing with London and Lilly. They have so many toys!

Overall we've had an amazing week with fabulous friends! I've really enjoyed getting to bond with my big boy one on one before Carmen gets here. It's amazing to see the difference in his attitude towards me since I've been home with him. He doesn't always have to have his daddy now. He wants mommy too!! Wonderful! I've also gotten to stay more consistent with my daily bible reading and prayer time, exercising, and the house is clean! This staying home thing with one child is awesome! Times are about to change, though...

Weekend in Tulsa

I had my week 36 doctor's appointment on Wednesday morning and the doctor said I could travel to Tulsa one last time! I was shocked and excited! I was dilated to a one and 30% effaced. We immediately hit the road! Roman was so good in the car. We had our first Texas In-and-Out burger experience on the way out of town!

Friday morning was crazy because Mike and Meg flew in town. I went with Meg and Pam for last minute wedding shopping and to get our nails done. Matt and Mike took Roman over to his Grandma's house. The great grandchildren call her Grandma Toot. Roman said it over and over!

Friday night was the family wedding shower for Mike and Meg. It was a Mexican theme considering the wedding will be in Mexico. Everyone had a blast!
